from high-quality BGH-free sources, hand-crafted from goat and cow milk.

Border Springs Farm is a small family farm raising Kathadin and Texel sheep, Heritage Turkeys, as well as working Border Collies.

Whe raise natural lamb on our pastures and do not sell any processed lamb ever treated with hormones or antibiotics. Texel wool is generally available to spinners and can certainly be reserved.

We welcome visitors essentially anytime. We lamb three to four times a year, Thanksgiving, New Years, and again in March into April. The Border Collies work every day doing chores or tuning up for their next sheep dog trial, and the livestock guardian dogs never take a vacation. They are always on patrol. The horses, chickens, and turkeys add a little additional color to the farm. When we are not doing chores, we train dogs, which sometimes looks more like play. Basic obedience and agility lessons are available in the evenings and weekends, and stockdog training (herding) and instruction can also be arranged.  If you have never had the pleasure of farm fresh lamb, please check out our lamb page and order some today.

Please enjoy your visit and we hope to see you at Border Springs Farm soon. Description

Night Sky Farm, once a dream is now become a reality. We are located in picturesque central Virginia, part of a rural, agriculturally based community. We are the only goat dairy. Most all of what is used in the making of our farmstead cheese comes from either our farm or from the local area. Through this, we try to keep our money at home where it is needed, supporting the local economy. The goal of this enterprise is to promote a safe and healthy local product, at the same time be good stewards of the farm and it's resources; the land, the animals and our community.

Licensed in 2008 in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Grade A Dairy and processing room, Night Sky Farm in Brookneal, Virginia produces the finest farmstead goat cheeses in the industry. Milking 25 dairy does gives Night Sky Farm the freshest milk for our goat feta cheese, pressed goat cheeses and semi-soft chevres. Night Sky Farm makes several flavors of chevres from our Naturally Plain to our seasonally available Cranberry & Walnut.

Night Sky Farm makes two varieties of feta cheese; 8 ozs of goat feta cheese in seasalt brine or 8 ozs. of feta cheese marinated in olive oil and fresh garden herbs. We also produce 3 types of fresh pressed goat cheese and our exciting new Button Packs.

Night Sky Farm now offers 100% Jersey Milk Fresh Cheeses

Our Jersey cows are milking! And with all that new milk, Night Sky Farm is rolling out the cheese! All our cheeses are made from the freshest milk and are aged for about a week to develop a rind and the texture perfect for slicing. The aging room will be completed this summer, so that by the fall and winter, Night Sky Farm will be offering raw cows milk and raw goats milk cheeses. For now our cheeses are sold as FRESH and are made from pasteurized milk, drained, pressed, aged and cut. Then, each piece is vacuum sealed; ready for market.

You can find us each Saturday morning at our farmer's markets beginning 3 April in Charlottesville and 1 May for Roanoke & Richmond markets:

Charlottesville City Market,

Grandin Village Farmer's Market,

St.Stephen's Farmer's Market

You can find us on http://www.localharvest.org/farms/M20129

You can follow the life of a cheese-maker by visiting our blog: http://www.nightskyfarm.wordpress.com

Forever Young Farm is a family owned and operated farm, committed to providing natuarally raised, pastured animals. We offer pork from our heritage breed, Tamworths; beef from bottle raised holstein steers, as well as other breeds. Look for beef in the future from our recent addition of heritage breed Red Poll Cattle, as we added a nice bull and three heifers this year.

We also offer rabbit, and farm fresh eggs. Depending on the season, we offer ducks, turkeys, broilers, and quail.

Our farm is well rounded, as we also offer when available, Great Dane puppies, Cur puppies for hunting, and as always, well broke, family safe trail horses.

Please call ahead to sechudle a visit as you never know what will be going on at the farm, from innner city kids riding horses, to a couple of hundred people from the city enjoying a church picnic. (more...)
